Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis). My eyes are not great and I have yet to carry a pair of binoculars with me. However, in these bare branches of grey and brown, even I cannot miss this brilliant flash. One of the strategies that I’m trying to use to learn the birds on this site is through learning their sounds. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology link gives the bird song so that I can become familiar with it. When I hear their call, it is like hearing the voice of a someone I know.

@streetroad_artistsspace is a fantastic host for our beehives. Thank you for allowing this abundance of #wildflowers to grow! They are providing the #pollen and nectar that will help the bees through the winter. I had blocked their entrance for ten minutes to do a mite treatment and they left a little pile of pollen at the door so they could get more! #asters #goldenrod

A lovely afternoon of harvesting our #glassgemcorn and pulling back the husks to dry them. We will be processing this into cornmeal once we get them fully dry. . . . I could look at these for hours. So much color inspiration! 😍❤️😍 . . . #colorinspiration #makesomethingeveryday #makefood #damnnatureyoupretty #gardencolors #corn #cornmeal #cornharvest #organicgardening #gardening #homestead #homesteading #chestercountypa #stellaloufarm #nofilter
